Stop using the word just

Shermain-Melton-the-word-just.png

If you want to speak more powerfully, with more authority, confidence, and presence; Stop using the word just.

The word just is a disempowering word. It takes away from whatever you say afterward.

Here are three examples that I've used or heard:

I just want to say, great job!

I just need for you to do this, please.

I’m just here.

The word just translates to tantum in latin, which translates to the word only. Here are the examples again with the word only:

I only want to say, great job!

I only need for you to do this, please.

I’m only here.

Stop using the word just. Own your voice!

Here are the examples without the word just:

I want to say great job!

I need for you to do this, please.

I am here.

Do you feel the power in these words now? What a difference!

We removed one word, and it made an immense difference. What other words, people, thoughts, and actions, if removed, would make an immense difference in your life?

Stop using the word just and start removing uselessness from your life.

God bless you.

Shermain.
