I am Black, Gay, and Christian. And for most of my life, I hid parts of myself to fit in.

I sometimes wondered if God created me as a joke. He gave me a heart so big it could love everyone, while leaving me to experience the pain and loneliness of not belonging anywhere.

I came from poverty. I felt lost and lonely. I made a choice to cultivate the courage to create a new destiny and identity for myself.
