The declaration of my purpose

IMG_0745.jpeg

I'm here to change the world.

I dream of a world where leaders of color are inspired, connected in a community, and supported. I believe that with this environment, we will all thrive!

I created a private Facebook group titled, Connect, Inspire, Serve to facilitate my purpose.

Being vulnerable first helps others be vulnerable. It gives them permission to speak up. I often play the game titled, "What I want you to know" and "What I don't want you to know about me" with my clients.

I'll model that here for you now.

What I don't want you to know is that it took me quite a while to declare my purpose to the world and create this community. Some of the fears I had were:

  • Will anyone show up?

  • Will I be able to serve whoever comes?

  • Am I smart enough / good enough to do this?

  • What if it's not perfect?

  • What if my purpose changes down the road?

  • Will I be able to create a place where people feel safe, inspired, connected, and served?

  • Will I keep this going and stay consistent?

When you have fear about something, that's a good thing. Fear is there to keep you safe.

If you want to get over that fear, you need a small bit of courage. Courage is feeling fear and taking action anyway. Courage produces confidence and confidence consistency.

I took action and created this group for us and will take it one day at a time.

Question: What's one tiny action you will take within two days to help you move forward with a challenge you have?

God bless you.
