Create your happiness
One of my top goals as a coach is to help my clients become greater. This is not about competition with someone else.
Becoming greater means that you summon the courage to be a better you today versus yesterday.
The only person you're ever in competition with is yourself. Be intentional about creating happiness in your life - or you will miss out on it.
Happiness is created and is a choice. Go after what you want instead of what someone else wants for you.
Going after what we want can be scary. Sometimes we think:
What if I fail? What would people think?
I'm not enough. I don't deserve to be happy.
Uncertainty - What if something bad happens? What if things don't go exactly to plan?
What if people leave me? The people I love and trust might walk away or distance themselves.
What if being happy gets in the way of my career?
One way to move forward out of fear and into action is to answer the scary question that you're afraid to answer.
Shine a light onto the fear and create a solution.
I've created The Breakthrough Fear to Action℠ tool that can help you create more in your life or business. We will use the tool in the context of happiness.
Step 1: [DREAM] Define where in your life or business you want to be happier.
Exercise: I want to be happier in my life or business. Paint a picture you can see in your mind. To me, happiness looks like _____________.
Example: To me, happiness looks like me waking up excited to go to work instead of dreading it.
Step 2: [EXPOSE] Uncover the loudest fear, doubt, or insecurity.
Exercise: I'm afraid to be happier. The loudest fear, doubt, or insecurity is saying, "What if ____________."
Example: What if I get another job and it's worse than the job I have?
Step 3: [RESPOND] Answer your fear.
Exercise: What if your fear happens? Then what? If _________ happens, I will ___________.
Example: If I get another job and it's worse than the job I have, I will get a different job.
Step 4: [ACT] Take a tiny step forward.
If you're up to it, I've got a challenge for you. Do this exercise and let me know how it goes.
You've got this.
Be Greater. Lead Greater. Love Greater. Win Greater.
